OAZE is a platform that recognises, certifies and supports offline-friendly environments. Through certification, editorial content and community-building, OAZE aims to encourage presence, attention and human connection in an always-on culture.

OAZE does not promote digital abstinence or enforce device-free behaviour. Its role is to recognise intentional design, facilitation and choices that support offline-friendly environments.

The website is intended for:

• Visitors seeking information about OAZE, its mission and certified locations

• Businesses and organisations interested in certification

• Partners, media and members of the OAZE movement

You may use the website for lawful purposes only and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of OAZE or third parties.

Nature of Certification

OAZE certification reflects an assessment at a specific moment in time. It recognises intentional efforts in design, atmosphere, rituals, guest flow and communication that support offline-friendly environments. Certification does not imply perfection, total device-free environments or uniform guest experiences.

No Guaranteed Outcomes

Certified locations are recognised for their intent and approach, not for specific outcomes. OAZE does not guarantee reduced stress, increased wellbeing, improved focus or behavioural change for individual guests. Concepts such as presence, connection and attention are inherently subjective and may be experienced differently by individuals.

Presence Index

The Presence Index is a qualitative assessment framework used by OAZE to evaluate alignment with its principles. It is not a ranking system, scorecard or comparative rating and should not be used to compare locations.

Guest Behaviour & Experience

OAZE certification does not regulate or enforce guest behaviour. OAZE is not responsible for individual guest conduct, interactions or personal experiences during visits to certified locations.

Certification reflects a specific assessment moment. Locations, concepts, ownership, scale, policies or operational realities may evolve over time.

OAZE reserves the right to:

• Periodically review certification status

• Introduce re-certification or review processes

• Suspend or withdraw certification if alignment with OAZE principles is no longer present

Certification does not automatically extend to significant changes in ownership, concept, scale or digital policy.

Certified locations may use OAZE certification marks, badges and language only in accordance with the guidelines provided.

Any public reference to OAZE must accurately reflect the scope, wording and status of the certification granted. Misuse, misrepresentation or misleading communication may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.

Use of the OAZE name, logo, certification marks, badges or certification language is further governed by the OAZE Brand & Certification Usage Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms & Conditions. In the event of conflict, the Brand & Certification Usage Policy shall prevail.

All content on this website, including text, visuals, logos, certification marks, badges, frameworks, methodologies, certification language and assessment principles, is the intellectual property of OAZE unless stated otherwise and is protected by applicable intellectual property and unfair competition laws.

You may:

• View and share content for personal or informational use

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce or distribute content for commercial purposes without prior written permission

• Use OAZE branding, certification marks, badges, certification language or frameworks without explicit authorisation

• Falsely claim, imply or suggest certification, affiliation or endorsement by OAZE

Unauthorised use, imitation or misrepresentation of OAZE certification, branding or status,  including by non-certified entities, constitutes infringement and may result in immediate legal action, including claims for injunctive relief, damages and recovery of legal costs.

OAZE strives to ensure that information on the website is accurate and current. Content may change over time. OAZE does not warrant that all information is complete, error-free or continuously up to date.

The website may contain links to third-party websites. OAZE is not responsible for the content, policies or practices of external sites.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• OAZE shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the website

• OAZE shall not be liable for decisions made based on certification status or website content

• Certification does not replace independent assessment, operational responsibility or professional advice

• Certified locations remain fully responsible for their own operations, safety standards, guest policies and legal compliance

• OAZE certification does not constitute medical, psychological or therapeutic advice.

Submitting an application for certification does not guarantee acceptance. OAZE reserves the right to accept or decline applications at its discretion and to modify certification criteria over time.

Participation in the OAZE movement does not imply endorsement of all views, practices or interpretations expressed by individual members or locations.

Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the website, you consent to the collection and use of information as described therein.

OAZE may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands.
